Course Overview & Syllabus
This course explores the nature of geographic information, specifically addressing the unique properties of spatial data, how spatial data are created, and the institutions that generate and use spatial data to solve problems. Geog 000 is the required first course in Penn State's Postbaccalaureate Certificate in GIS and Master of GIS (MGIS) degree programs, both of which are offered through Penn State's World Campus.
