Structuring Mastery Paths Progression
Introduction
By default, all assignments, quizzes, and discussions are assigned to everyone in a Canvas course. Once you add an assignment, quiz, or discussion as conditional content, you will need to assign it to Mastery Paths.
The student’s Mastery Paths initial assignment score dictates the Mastery Path they will follow. The designated conditional assignment(s) will only display to students whose initial content score falls within that range. As a student progresses through their Mastery Paths, they will only be able to see content in their modules that are assigned to everyone, or those specific assignments based on their Mastery Path.

Create Mastery Paths for Students using Conditional Content
Once you create all of your content and add your materials into your module, you want to be sure that you create your range breakdowns, add specific due dates, and indicate who will complete the conditional assignments.

Assign a Mastery Path to Students
When you create a quiz, assignment, or discussion board for conditional content you want to be sure that you assign that content to Mastery Paths. This is the same area on an assignment, quiz or discussion that you would assign to an individual student or groups of students.

When an assignment is created, you can adjust the due dates and later view varied due dates for the assignment based on the Mastery Paths.
