Setting Up Extended Time
The Canvas Guides contain information about how to extend time on an exam. You may also need to extend deadlines by changing the availability dates on an assignment. The notification email you receive will include specific details about how much time, if any, needs to be added to exams and/or assignments.
Honorlock Proctoring Information
Honorlock is Penn State’s proctoring service. For general information about how to use this service, visit Penn State’s Honorlock website Links to an external site.. Depending on a student's accommodation, an instructor or design team member will need to either enter accommodation information within Honorlock or set up a separate exam for the student. Please note that all other adjustments, including extended exam time and multiple attempts, will still need to be made in Canvas.

Set Up a Practice Quiz
Provide an Honorlock practice quiz Links to an external site. for the benefit of all students.
- Have students take the practice quiz about two weeks in advance so that any issues are resolved prior to taking exams.
- Set the quiz up so that it is available for students to take multiple times; that way, they can use it prior to each exam.
Students with accommodations can reach out via live chat during this practice quiz to let the Honorlock service team know that they have accommodations, just as they would when taking an actual exam. This lets them familiarize themselves with how it works.
