Module Purpose and Objectives
Welcome to Grants Management. Grants Management, also referred to as Post-award Research Administration, manages grants and contracts for the University.
Only the post-award financial management is in SIMBA. Pre-award management will continue in the Strategic Information Management System (SIMS); however, the systems are integrated for grant set-up. In this Learning Path, we will review the award set-up process between SIMS and SIMBA as it moves to Research Accounting, and then the Research Office in the business area where the actual research administration is taking place. To effectively administer, monitor, and report on grants it is critical to understand the entire process.
NOTE: Grants is used as a generic term in this Learning Path but refers to all grants or contracts in the Grants Management Module.
