Type of Grants

In SIMBA grants there are three grant types.

• Y1 – PSU Standard Grant Type
• Y2 – PSU ARL Grant Type
• Y3 – Academic Research Service Centers (ARSO)

The three types are created from the SIMS-SIMBA Integration. Research Accounting then completes the setup for all except for Y2 ARL. ARL staff serve as a Central Grant Maintainer for ARL awards.

NOTE: In the grant nomenclature, the “Y” is used for classification purposes only and does not refer to the year.
