Accessing and Paying Your Bill

Some of the business that you'll be conducting in LionPATH has to do with viewing and paying your semester bill. You can access these functions by selecting the My Finances button on the LionPATH home page. Your semester bill will be generated after the first business day of the month once your registration is completed. Once your bill is ready, you can access it via the following instructions:

  1. Select the My Finances button, and then select the Manage My Account/Make Payment link to view your Student Account dashboard (Figure 2.9).
  2. Select the View link to open your statement in a new window. You can also download your statement by selecting the download link.

Viewing Your Statements

Now that you know how to view your statement, let’s take a look at what you'll be seeing:

  • Statement Summary—The top portion of the statement contains a summary of your account as of the statement date. If you're mailing your payment, you should print the statement using the PDF reader’s print functionality and return the top portion with your payment. 
  • Statement Details—The Statement Details section contains information on the transactions on your account. This includes any activity since your last statement, late fees that you've incurred, financial aid you've been awarded, and your balance as of the statement date. 
  • Enrollment Information—This section displays the classes in which you are enrolled as of the statement date.
  • Holds—This section will appear at the bottom of the statement only if you have Bursar holds on your account. The holds displayed here are those that are active on your account as of the statement date.

Viewing Your Account

The Overview section of the Student Account dashboard provides real-time information on your account. This section includes a summary of all activity that has occurred since your last statement. You can see additional details on this activity by selecting Activity Details on the left-side menu.

This is also where you can make online payments using a credit card or electronic check (from U.S. bank accounts only). International payments are handled slightly differently. We'll take a closer look at the payment process next.

You'll make your payments from the Finances tab in LionPATH by selecting the Manage My Account/Make a Payment link.

If your anticipated financial aid is displaying, you should make a note of your projected account balance now so that you can adjust your payment to that amount in the next step.

Selecting the Charges to Pay

The charges on your account will be listed in the Payment window of the dashboard. Please note that the amount displayed doesn't include any of your anticipated aid, so you should adjust the amount of your payment to reflect any aid you'll be receiving. Once you're ready to make a payment, you will do the following:

  1. Select Make a Payment on the left-side menu to open the payment page. The semester and balance on your account will be listed.
  2. Because the amount displayed doesn't include any of your anticipated aid, adjust the amount of your payment to reflect any aid you'll receive (return to the Overview section if you need to find your amount of anticipated aid.)
  3. Once you've made any necessary adjustments to the Amount field, select Continue.

Entering Payment Information

Now that you've selected the charges you would like to pay, you can make an online payment by credit card or electronic check.

Select the payment method you want to use by:

  • Electronic Check (eCheck): If you're paying with a U.S. bank account (eCheck), select the bank account, and then select the I agree box to accept the authorization to withdraw payment from your account. Select Continue to check out. Note: There are no additional fees assessed on electronic check transactions.  
  • Credit Card: If you're paying by credit card, select New credit or debit card, enter the credit card information, and select Continue to check out. Note: A service fee applies to all credit card transactions. This service fee will be assessed at the time the payment is applied to your credit card. 

    For check and credit card payments, once you make your first payment, you can choose to save the payment method if you wish. Doing this will give you the option of selecting your saved payment method the next time you pay your bill. You will see a "Thank you for your payment" message after completing your payment by eCheck or credit card, which will include the email address where the payment receipt was sent. 
  • Foreign Currency: If you're making an international payment, select Foreign Currency. International payments are processed by Flywire. After selecting Continue, you will be directed to the Flywire website to complete the payment.  

Your receipt will be displayed in the Transactions section on the left-side menu of the Student Account dashboard. Select the transaction number to see your receipt.
