Student Services

Since you're taking classes at a distance, you may be concerned that some of the resources available to resident students will not also be provided to you. This couldn't be further from the truth, as being a World Campus student affords you access to the same types of quality services that you would expect at any of Penn State’s resident campuses. We've taken an in-depth look at some of these services already—and indeed we'll look closely at a few more in upcoming pages—but for now, let’s review briefly the services that are available to you.

We've spoken about submitting transcripts from other colleges or universities when we looked at transfer credit. These submissions are made to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions Links to an external site., which is responsible for the initial review and placement of your previously completed coursework. They will also review transcripts from College Level Examination Programs (CLEP exams), DSST (formerly DANTES), or Advanced Placement exams. If you have questions about the World Campus admissions process, visit the World Campus Admissions page Links to an external site.—you can even chat live during business hours!

Once you've scheduled your courses, you'll receive a semester bill. If you have questions about this bill, you should reach out to the Office of the Bursar Links to an external site..

We've also looked in depth at different options for funding your education. As a reminder, the Office of Student Aid Links to an external site. is where you can ask questions about your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), scholarships, and your financial aid award.

If you need to speak with someone about the schedule of courses, requesting an official Penn State transcript, or reenrolling at Penn State after an extended absence, you will contact our Office of the Registrar Links to an external site..

The Office for Disability Services Links to an external site. can provide accommodations for students with documented disabilities. If you have a disability, please let your adviser or the World Campus Disability specialists know right away, so we have time to help you with the accommodations you need.

The World Campus Veterans Office Links to an external site. is where active-duty, reserve, and veteran students can ask questions about their GI Bill and other military benefits that are available to them.

The Office of Student Affairs Links to an external site. can help you with a wide range of topics, from mental health advocacy and student conduct issues to assistance with forming new student organizations.

We've also mentioned our Online Learning Librarian Links to an external site., who is here to help you connect to Penn State’s vast array of library resources at a distance.

All of these services are provided to you as a member of the World Campus community, so please don't hesitate to use them—we're here for you! If you have additional questions about services, you can always reach out to your academic adviser. As we have mentioned, your advisor is a fabulous resource when you need help connecting to any of the resources at your new campus.
