Your Canvas Inbox
When you take World Campus courses, you often need to send an email to your course instructor to ask questions about your assignments or classmates to do a group work. PSU email is one way to contact them, but there is an easier and more convenient way than opening your email application! Even though you may not know your classmate's email address, you can find them and send an email through Canvas Inbox.
You can find Canvas Inbox on the left of you Canvas screen. The red box in figure 2.16 shows the location of Canvas Inbox.

You will need to use both your PSU email and Canvas Inbox for an activity in this module. For information about using Canvas Inbox, visit the Canvas Community pages How do I use the Inbox as a student? Links to an external site. and How do I send a message to a user in a course in the Inbox as a student? Links to an external site.
PSU Email vs. Canvas Inbox
Be careful! The emails received through your PSU email, Microsoft Office 365 account will not be shown in your Canvas Inbox. Only the emails you have sent and received via Canvas Inbox can be checked in Canvas Inbox. This means you should frequently check your PSU email whether you get any email from school or other classmates via PSU email. However, default settings do send Canvas Inbox messages to your PSU email. If you do not change these settings you can check the emails that have been sent through Canvas in your PSU email.
