Penn State IT includes six departments: Administrative IT, Campus IT, College IT, Research IT, Infrastructure and Operations, and Service Enablement and Applications.
As new faculty, the most likely points of intersection with our unit are the IT Service Desk, and IT Learning and Development.

The Penn State IT Service Desk fields approximately 125,000 contacts per year from Penn Staters all over the world.
Infrastructure maintains, operates and monitors three Penn State data centers, 30 networking hub sites and 900 network closets.
Penn State Go Links to an external site., the University’s award-winning official app, offers 27 unique experiences for University Park, the Commonwealth Campuses, World Campus, and faculty, staff, alumni and families. The free app features in-demand resources such as LionPATH, Canvas, Starfish, campus maps and Mobile id+ and more. It has been downloaded more than 350,000 times since it rolled out in 2020. More than 85% of students use it weekly, with most of them using it daily to order food, check grades, access their courses, view library resources, stay in touch with upcoming events, and more.
