Professional and Career Development for Graduate Students

Overview:

Professional development refers to your development in the profession – the skills you need to succeed in your graduate area of study and as a practitioner in your field of expertise. Career development refers to you developing the skills to find a career and succeed in that career. The two areas do overlap and you will likely find that your focus early in your graduate studies is more on professional development, while career development will become more important as you progress through your degree.

The Fox Graduate School and Career Services offer an array of programs, resources, and services that can support your professional and career development. From career fairs to workshops to career counseling, we’re firmly committed to helping you accomplish your goals. Once you begin your graduate studies, watch for opportunities offered by your graduate program, college or school, and other organizations around Penn State.
