The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center
The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center is here to equip you with knowledge and skills to make positive choices regarding money management, not just during your time at Penn State but throughout your life. Our services are easily accessible to all Penn State students, staff, and alumni, ensuring that you can begin building a foundation that will allow you to make informed money management decisions.
Services the Center offers include:
- Financial literacy presentations and workshops: The Center’s staff and trained student ambassadors provide engaging educational presentations on a wide variety of personal finance topics. Presentations are perfect for academic classes, student organizations and clubs, and departmental events.
- The Center also offers interactive, hands-on workshops that ask participants to engage in individual skill-building on financial topics. Workshops are ideal for smaller academic classes, student organizations and clubs, and departmental events with less than 30 people.

- One-on-one financial consultations: You can schedule a confidential meeting with a professional financial coach to discuss your finances and help tackle your unique challenges. Meetings are available in person and online.

- Live and recorded webinars: The Center offers free monthly webinars via Zoom, covering various personal finance topics. Webinars are open to the public and are held every other Tuesday of the month at noon EST during the fall and spring semesters. - Self-paced online study modules: Learn at your own pace with MoneyCounts, twenty-eight comprehensive self-study modules hosted on Canvas. We offer various topics, allowing you to gain the skills needed to establish and meet your financial goals on your own schedule.
