Welcome Letter
Welcome to the College of Health and Human Development
Dedicated to enriching human well-being and strengthening intellectual, social, physical, economic, and emotional wellness, Penn State’s College of Health and Human Development (HHD) is proud to provide students a solid foundation for positively impacting the way people live — both now and far into the future. HHD faculty and staff are recognized as some of the most respected leaders across the country and around the globe in our respective disciplines. Our faculty — which includes fellows, presidents, and board/committee members of numerous national academies and organizations — is regularly honored for innovative excellence in teaching, advising, research, and actively engaging students.
The Penn State Values Links to an external site., while aspirational in nature, should guide your employment activities at Penn State. The vision that HHD has specifically for our college is to be leaders and learners working in, and having actively fostered, a culture of inclusiveness, equity and integrity who have collaboratively and adaptively leveraged science to prevent and solve problems and create opportunities to maximize health, optimize quality of life, and enhance human potential for all people and populations.
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we accept you into our college, and even more so, onto our team. As you are aware, Penn State is a land-grant university dedicated to the mission of teaching, research, and service. We look forward to seeing you contribute to each of these missions and succeed in your field.
