Module Purpose and Objectives

There are several Canvas communication tools (announcements, conversations, and chat) to use to communicate with your students throughout the term. This module includes instructions on how to use these tools as well as the Canvas discussion tool to facilitate effective online discussions in your course.

By the end of this module, you should be able to...

• Develop your approach to communicating with students in Canvas
• Use Canvas communication tools to communicate with students in your courses
• Prepare your students to use Canvas communication tools
• Facilitate course-relevant discussions using Canvas' discussion feature
• Create and manage discussions in your course
