Module Purpose and Objectives

This module will help you learn how to create assessments in Canvas, including assignments, quizzes, and exams. After creating an assessment, you learn how to use the grading and feedback tools to respond to student work and monitor performance throughout your course.

By the end of this module, you should be able to...

• Design and deliver course assessments through Canvas
• Select assignment and quiz settings for a variety of contexts
• Create quizzes and assignments, and accept assignment submissions online
• Identify options for grading and providing feedback on student work
• Grade and provide feedback on assignments and quizzes
• List and maintain student grades in the Canvas Gradebook, and report final grades to external systems
• Access and use data reports in Canvas to enhance student learning and instructional practice (e.g. to monitor student performance)
