Overview: SIMBA Reporting
Welcome to the Reporting Learning Path
SIMBA is Penn State’s System for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting. Reports within SIMBA allow users to view financial data in an organized manner and use that data to answer important financial questions for the University. These reports are accessed via the launchpad in SIMBA.
The Reporting Learning Path is designed to provide guidance for financial reporting at Penn State and to assist SIMBA users in determining the appropriate report and reporting tool that best meets their needs.
When viewing resources in this learning path, please note that reports are role-specific, so most end users will not see all of the itemized reports in their launchpad.
To access reports in SIMBA, you need to be connected to a Penn State network. If you are working from a non-Penn State network—in other words, you are working anywhere outside of a Penn State campus or facility—you will need to connect to the Global Protect Virtual Private Network, commonly called the VPN.
Follow the steps in this article to connect to Penn State's VPN:

While working in SIMBA, you can consult your department's super user or financial officer if you have any questions. Submitting a SIMBA Assistance Request Form Links to an external site. (PSU resource) poses your question to the SIMBA Team.
To learn more about SIMBA, join the SIMBA User and Sharing and Support Teams space Links to an external site. (External resource) and attend Reporting Open Office Hours every second Tuesday and fourth Thursday of the month at 9:00 AM via Zoom Links to an external site. (External resource).
