Located just off Route 322 in Centre County, Pennsylvania, is a tiny old-fashioned American village called Boalsburg. Perhaps to some people this little town is just another dot on the map, but the locals know a truer meaning behind Boalsburg. “Boalsburg. An American Village – birthplace of Memorial Day.”

State College Pride
State College Pride is celebrated in June, but the power of our inclusive community is recognized all year long. State College Pride is hosted by Centre LGBTQA Support Network, Downtown Improvement District, and the Borough of State College. According to organizers, about 4,000 supporters attended last year’s festivities.

Since 1988 the Bellefonte Cruise has been a popular Father's Day weekend event in Historic Bellefonte, Centre county, PA. If you enjoy the look and history of antique and classic cars, come experience these treasures with the whole family at the Bellefonte Cruise. Browse a selection of classic, exotic, antique, and European cars & motorcycles all shining in their individual time periods. Our car show is sure to amuse car-lovers of all ages. Enjoy the Friday night sock hop, music, food and more!

Juneteenth Celebration 
Penn State and the State College community came together to commemorate Juneteenth National Independence Day with a series of events and activities. The celebration began with an art exhibition and reception on June 14 at the Woskob Family Gallery, featuring diverse visual media. The highlight was a vibrant block party on June 15 at Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza, which showcased live performances and cultural displays. The festivities culminated with a virtual speaker series on June 18, hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association, where Dean Clarence Lang delved into the historical significance of Juneteenth and its impact as a federal holiday. Throughout, Penn State University Libraries offered educational resources to explore African American culture and history, reflecting the community’s commitment to dialogue and understanding.

WingFest
For over 20 years, WingFest has been entertaining families and friends in Centre County and its surrounding areas. Join us each week for new music and wings from your favorite restaurants and vote for your favorite! Each week a winner is crowned, and they move on to the Finals to compete for the overall Wing King title.

Central PA 4thFest
Fourth of July celebrations in the State College area go back to 1927, when the Alpha Fire Company first put on a carnival. In 2001, an independent, community-based group was formed to carry forward our 4th of July traditions. Central Pennsylvania July 4th, Inc., is a non-profit organization. Its Board of Directors includes community leaders in education, business, industry, medicine, public service and government. At the heart of the organization are its hundreds of volunteers, without whom the event would not be possible.

Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts
Founded in 1967 by the State College Chamber of Commerce and Penn State University’s College of Arts and Architecture in an effort to bring the arts and commerce to the area, the CPFA is an independent, not-for-profit corporation. In the years since the first festival, it has evolved to encompass the Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition, performances on outdoor and indoor stages, a banner competition, Children & Youth Day, a juried gallery exhibition, and street painting artists-in-action. The Festival assists the Nittany Valley Running Club in presenting the Sue Crowe Memorial Arts Festival Races, and Schlow Centre Region Library in presenting BookFest. The Central PA Tasting Trail offers festival-goers a local craft beverage tasting experience.

People's Choice Festival of Pennsylvania Arts & Crafts
In 1993, there were 50 vendors, a couple food stands, and a few live bands. Now it’s one of the largest and most family-friendly arts festivals in central Pennsylvania – attracting more than 110,000 visitors over a four-day period. One of the things that makes People’s Choice a little different from most arts festivals – all the artists, entertainers, and food vendors are from Pennsylvania. The selection of arts and food are also chosen to suit the budgets of growing families.

Centre Film Festival 
The Centre Film Festival is a week-long celebration of film and conversation connecting local voices with global ones through media arts, workshops and masterclasses. The festival offers masterclasses that enable local teens to engage with artists and develop their own artistic visions. We believe Central Pennsylvania is rich with screen-worthy stories and the talent to make them.

Ag Progress Days
Penn State’s Ag Progress Days, held annually during three days in August, is Pennsylvania’s largest outdoor agricultural exposition. With over 400 exhibitors from the United States and Canada, there is something for everyone to enjoy at no cost as parking and admission are free. The show is hosted by Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences and showcases educational programs, current research, and the latest innovations in agricultural equipment and technology.

Grange Fair
Experience the wonder and excitement that is the Centre County Grange Fair every August. With a 149-year history, the fair is a home-away-from-home to families in 1,000 tents and 1,500 RVs. It is the only remaining tenting fair in the nation. Feel the magic, the charm, and the nostalgia. Best of all, be part of something extraordinary!

Borough Local Groove Music Festival 
The Local Groove Music Festival features Central PA's best bands, showcasing artists highlighted on WPSU's The Local Groove Presents. It was more than just music and fun; attendees came together to raise crucial funds for WPSU public media in light of anticipated budget cuts. Festival-goers enjoyed soaking in the vibrant energy of the crowd, relaxing on the grass, and being swept away by the music. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, perfect for creating lasting memories for families who joined in on the festivities, which included activities and entertainment suitable for all ages.

Bellefonte Victorian Christmas
The annual Bellefonte Victorian Christmas celebration brings a touch of Charles Dickens to Centre County.Enjoy a trip back in history as you tour the streets of Bellefonte during Bellefonte Victorian Christmas. With horse-drawn carriage rides, music, historical tours, breakfast with Santa and much more, there are activities for all ages to celebrate the holiday season.

Hannukah Celebration
Chabad of Penn State hosted its annual Hanukkah celebration at Old Main, drawing members of the university and State College community. The event, held on the fourth night of Hanukkah, began with a festive parade through downtown, culminating in a menorah lighting led by Rabbi Nosson Meretsky. State College Mayor Ezra Nanes and state Rep. Paul Takac attended, offering remarks on community unity and the significance of Hanukkah, despite diverse backgrounds. Attendees gathered at Old Main's steps for the menorah lighting ceremony, which included participation from Mayor Nanes and others. The evening concluded with indoor festivities featuring traditional Hanukkah treats, music, and a warm community atmosphere.

Or just check out our ice sculptures, make a resolution, and enjoy the evening with someone you love.
