Health and Human Development Across Penn State Campus

Health and Human Development Building
It is the administrative home to the College of Health and Human Development and its Dean's Office. Several Health and Human Development Dean's Office units are located in the building, including Alumni Relations, Development, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Research and Graduate Education, and Undergraduate Education. In addition, the Health and Human Development Building is home to the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, The Methodology Center, and numerous classrooms, laboratories, and conference rooms.
Biobehavioral Health Building
The Biobehavioral Health Building opened in 2012 and is home to several units in the College of Health and Human Development. The Department of Biobehavioral Health, Center for Healthy Aging, Edna Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center, and Health and Human Development's Information Systems and Services group are all centered in the Biobehavioral Health Building. In addition, the Biobehavioral Health Building houses numerous laboratories, offices, and the Ruth Pike Auditorium.
Henderson Building
Several College of Health and Human Development Dean's Office units are located in Henderson Building, including the offices of Communications and Marketing, Diversity and Inclusion, and Outreach, as well as the Center for Student Advising and Engagement, located on the ground floor. The Social Science Research Institute is also located in Henderson, in addition to several classrooms and laboratories.
Chandlee Lab
Chandlee Lab, built in 1966, houses multiple Penn State science facilities. The Department of Nutritional Sciences is located here, along with the Smoking Behavior Research Facility, the Gonomics Core Facility, and the High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging Facility.
Noll Lab
Noll Laboratory, originally called the "Human Performance Laboratory", is a research facility in the Department of Kinesiology dedicated to studying physiology as it relates to health and disease. The Center for Childhood Obesity Research, a research center in College of Health and Human Development , is also located in Noll Lab. The Clinical Research Center (CRC), a service unit of Penn State's Clinical and Translational Science Institute, is located in the Elmore Research Wing of Noll Lab, providing infrastructure and services for investigators who conduct human clinical research.
Keller Building
Keller Building is home to programs in the College of Education, Smeal College of Business and College of Health and Human Development. The College of Education's Learning and Performance Systems is on the third and fourth floor, along with the Goodling Institute for Research in Family Literacy, the Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy and Professional Personnel Development Center for Career and Technical Education. Keller Building is also home to the College of the Liberal Arts' School of Labor and Employment Relations.
Mateer Building
Mateer Building opened in 1990 and is home to the School of Hospitality Management, founded in 1937. Cafe Laura, in Mateer, is a "living lab," where students gain experience in the wide range of skills and techniques that are normally associated with the duties of a hospitality manager, including always popular student-run theme dinners. Kings Espresso bar serves Starbucks Coffee and Penn State Bakery pastries.
Ford Building
The Donald H. Ford Building is named after the first dean of the College of Human Development. Ford Building is home to a number of departments and units of the College of Health and Human Development. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Department of Health Policy and Administration, and Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management, are all administratively housed in Ford Building. In addition, the Center for Health Care and Policy Research is housed in Ford Building. It was rededicated under its current name in 2007, formerly known as the Business Administration Building.
J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation Building
In recognition of a $4 million gift by the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation, University leaders have approved renaming the Oak Building on the University Park campus in the foundation’s honor. The Marriott Foundation’s commitment, part of a broader, ongoing fundraising effort to renovate the building and support future programing, is creating a dedicated space to encourage innovation and inclusion within Penn State’s School of Hospitality Management.
